抄録

Through the experimental results of small rectangular weir of b=0.10m (b : the width of weir), the author has been clarified the effects of channel B in width and weir D in height. For the case m=h/b (h : head) has comparatively large value, experiments have not yet been performed, and scale effects of weir which is b in width have not yet been treated either. Accordingly, in the present paper, when the value m is somewhat large, experimental results of weirs with b=0.01, 0.02, 0.025, and 0.05m are reported and those of weirs having b=0.10m are supplemated. From the experiments, it can be seen that the coefficients of discharge are smoothly artnged by the factors b, m, b/B, and h/(h+D), and some characteristics are made clear about the matters as follows : 1. Scale effects (effects of weir b in width). 2. Relations between m and B (or m and b/B); m and D [or m and h/(h+D)]. 3. The magnitude of coefficient of discharge for b=∞. 4. Conditions for perfect contraction. 5. Values of coefficients of discharge when m takes comparatively large value. 6. Positions of head measurements.
