Abstract

The process of problem solving and inquiry, including the setting of a problem, collection of information, arrangement and analysis, and the conclusion and expression, must be repeated in inquiry-based learning. In this research, we surveyed the situation of students pursuing the inquiry-based learning program since approximately a year and half and examined the issues in the continuous and developmental process of repetitive inquiry-based learning. As a result, it was confirmed that after about a year and half, the information utilization skill mastered through this program is achieved. Furthermore, it was revealed that some students believed that their writing regarding the use of personal computer improved. On the contrary, although a student could understand the setting of the problem and the method of information gathering, he could not understand the remaining steps and utilize the process of problem solving appropriately. In addition, one of the students reported that the number of books provided as reference was insufficient and it hampered his ability to understand the process.
