Abstract
When a Poisson process with a constant parameter is not appropriate to describe data, generalized Poisson distributions or mixtures of Poisson distribution are utilized to fit the data. However, if a population which can be described by a generalized distribution or mixtures of Poisson distribution, varies with independent variables representing the properties of the popula tion, the distributions are not enough to describe the data. We propose models in which the parameters of these distributions are functions of the independent variables. These models are applicable to data on incorrect responses in adult intelligence tests.
