抄録
A fracture mechanism due to thermal stress of metallurgical coke in a blast furnace is investigated by nonlinear transient finite element analysis of heat transfer and thermal stress, as follows;<BR>(1) Thermal stress distribution in a coke disk heated locally by Joule's method.<BR>(2) Effect of initial temperature, thermal expansivity and diameter of coke on thermal stress distribution in a coke sphere.<BR>The strength of coke during rapid heating at high temperature can be estimated. The possibility of thermal schock fracture is deduced to occur in a lower part of a blast furnace.
