Abstract

Two male patients, 18 years old and 15 years old, presented with coccygeal nodules of 50×30mm and 60×30mm in diameter, respectively. The two patients were thinly built and had kyphotic tendencies. Both patients underwent surgical excision of the nodules under local anesthesia. Histopathological examination of the nodules revealed thickened epidermis and marked dermal collagen hyperplasia. The nodules have not recurred during two years of follow-up after the excision. Both nodules were expected to be produced by physical exercise (sit-ups) or bicycle riding and their inappropriate sitting position. On determining the etiological factors, the material of the chair and the patient's sitting posture should be taken into account.Skin Research, 16: 80-83, 2017
