抄録

The present study was undertaken to determine the importance of bovine serum albumin for the capacitation of rat spermatozoa and if the follicular cells surrounding the eggs have a particular role on the fertilization of rat eggs in vitro. The results were as follows. 1. After the removal of the follicular cells by treatment with hyaluronidase, the denuded rat eggs can be fertilized in vitro, whether the spermatozoa were taken from the epididymis or from the uterus. 2. The removal of the follicular cells from rat eggs reduced the fertilization rate in vitro inseminated with epididymal spermatozoa, but did not affect the fertilization rate inseminated with uterine spermatozoa. 3. Bovine serum albumin in the chemically defined medium has an important role on the capacitation of spermatozoa and fertilization of rat eggs in vitro.
