Several variations of hair production were traced amd measured on the female adult angora rabbits under the influence of an extreme undernutrition-inanition and following protein-inanition.<br>The remarkable effects of these treatments began to appear within a half month period, the hair became fine, its growth velocity decreased or retarded and its loss increased, while on the rapid growing hair marked tender parts were produeed followed by the degeneration of medullated cores and the tem- porary softening of coarse fibres. These varieties are assumed to occur partially as relate to the difference of each follicular age and its mutually independent activity. However, the chemical determination of sulfur compounds in hair showed that no great changes were brought on the progress of keratinization. The variations of body weights of the animals were almost parallel to that of the hair yields over the periods, and an outward relationship seemed to exist between these two.
