Abstract

1) Through a serial photography, we analysed the alteration of joint-angles during the time when horses and cattle walked freely.<BR>2) The inclination-angle of the head alters opposite to that of the neck. The head and neck perform, a lever without change of their relative positions.<BR>3) The upper parts of the limb show one wave on one stride and a remarkable variation caused by the burden of the body-weight. The free parts of the limb pass through with variable rates and their characteristic processes. Besides, the angles sway remarkably, when the limb leaves the ground with a strong snapp.<BR>4) We can find a obvious difference in the phases, when cattle and horses have the largest or smallest value on their joint-angles.
