A new antigen which was resembled to G2 of cattle B blood group system was discovered, and named Gx, tentatively. When the reaction patterns of red cells in six cattle breeds were tested by the presence or absens of G2 and Gx antigens, about 60 per cent (1650) animals were G2Gx type which had G2 and Gx antigens simultaneously, 2 per cent (57) were G2 type which had G2 antigen alone, and 38 per cent (1065) were "-" type in which both antigens were lacking. The Gx type which had Gx antigen alone was not appeared, and Gx never occurred in cattle red cells if G2 was not appeared. From the genetic analysis in Holstein cattle, a new subtype relationship between G2 and Gx was confirmed. According to the results of two recent international comparison tests for cattle blood typing, Gx differed from G1 which was another subtype antigen to G2, and a symmetrical subtype relationship among G1-G2-Gx antigens was ascertained, in which G2 was the center. The Gx antigen is resembled to the G0 which have been reported by DUNIEC et al., but the identification between them has not been performed yet.
