Symmetrical subtypes among G blood group antigen, G1-G2-Gx, at the B system of cattle was discovered in pervious report. In this experiment, anti-G1 reagent was isolated and identified with standard cells. The immunological relationship among these G group of antigens was examined by alloimmunization and absorption test. 1) In addition to G1G2, G2Gx and "-" types, a new genetic unit, G2 type which had G2 antigen alone, was discovered in Japanese native cattle. 2) When "-" type recipient was immunized with G1G2 donor cells, anti-G1 antibody was produced easily, but antibodies which reacted with G2 or G2Gx cells were not demonstrated in recipient sera. When "-" recipient was immunized with G2Gx cells, strong reactive anti-G2 and anti-Gx antibodies were produced. 3) The activity of anti-G1 sera was lost by absorption with G1G2, G2Gx or G2 cells, although this antisera lysed only G1G2 cells. These facts suggested that anti-G1 sera combined with G1 and G2 antigens, but complement fixative reaction occurred only on antigen-antibody complex of G1 and anti-G1. Anti-G2 sera lysed all cell types which had G2 antigen, and the activity of this antisera was lost by absorption with G2Gx cells. When anti-G2 sera was absorbed with G1G2 or G2 cells, anti-Gx activity was remained. This showed anti-G2 reagent consisted of both anti-G2 and anti-Gx antibodies. Anti-Gx sera lysed only G2Gx cells, and the activity of this antibody was lost by absorption with G2Gx cells. 4) G1 and Gx antigens had the similar subtype relation in concerned with the genetic relation to G2 antigen, as they could appear after the presence of G2 antigen. But the immunological relation between G1-G2 and G2-Gx were different, namely, G1 and G2 seemed closely related and cross reactive relation, and G2 and Gx were clearly separable one.
