説明

A 6-wk trial was conducted with 24 pigs to determine the effects of dietary copper (Cu 150ppm)and α-tocopheryl acetate (VE 100ppm) on performance, tissue Cu and VE, and lipid peroxidation in growing pigs. The diet was based on dried skim milk and wheat flour and its copper, iron, zinc and tylosin content were 4, 295, 131 and 88 ppm, respectively. It contained 1% linseed oil which was rich in alpha linolenic acid (18:3 n-3). No effects of excess Cu and VE supplementation to the diets containing tylosin on growth performance were observed. Liver Cu content was significantly increased by feeding 150ppm Cu-supplemented diet. Increases in dietary VE resulted in significant increases in heart Cu and Fe levels. Liver and heart VE content in VE-supplemented groups were significantly higher than in the unsupplemented groups. Thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances (TBA-RS, indicators of lipid peroxidation) were significantly higher in the liver and heart of VE-0 pigs compared with those of VE-100 pigs. Liver TBA-RS content was affected by Cu status. Cu and Fe contents of liver increased in pigs fed linseed oil compared with those fed without a linseed oil diet (please refer to our previous paper). Pigs fed linseed oil had lower levels of VE in the liver and heart as compared with those fed no linseed oil. TBA-RS were significantly higher in the liver and heart of linseed oil-fed pigs compared with those fed no linseed oil. Pigs fed a diet containing 150ppm of Cu and 1% linseed oil showed increased TBA-RS, whereas pigs fed a diet containing 250ppm Cu did not show increased TBA-RS.
