Abstract

The objective of this paper is to clarify the effect of local-heating of the soles on human physiological and psychological responses. The measurements are carried out in an experimental room with step-change throughout hygro-thermal conditions. The results are as follows ; 1. In cold environment, local-heating of the soles has an insignificant effect on thermal sensation. 2. The higher the room temperature is, the more local-heating of the soles has effect on thermal sensation 3. The neutral temperature of thermal sensation is 22℃ in a normally heated room. However, local-heating of the soles lowers the neutral temperature of thermal sensation to 20℃.
