Abstract

Defect diffusion coefficients Dd were calculated in various oxide systems from the available data of tracer-, self- and chemical diffusion coefficients and ionic conductivities with the aid of the informations of stoichiometric deviation or impurity contents. The essential part of the values thus obtained may be expressed as Dd=10-2±1 exp (-20-30kcal⋅mol-1/RT)cm2⋅s-1 The usefulness of expressing the data in terms of defect diffusion coefficient was discussed as well as the problems associated with the change in its value as the defect concentration increases.
