In recent times, small-to medium-sized manufacturing firms are faced with the problem of a time crunch with regard to the technical education of their employees. In this study, an e-learning system was used in certain companies on a trial basis for a period of six months, and a questionnaire survey was conducted to ascertain the expectations from the system in order to develop and obtain evaluation of the e-learning system for small- to medium-sized manufacturing firms. The results of tests conducted before and after the use of the system indicated that increase in the test score and the frequency of use of the system are positively correlated. Furthermore, the result of the questionnaire survey indicated that corporations having 25-49 employees are inclined toward employing such a system, and the application at the "single high technical skill type" "multi kind small-lot production type" corporations whose education is insufficient.
