Abstract
Wheares cross-ventilation is veneficial to obtain thermal confort in a hot summertime, it is difficult to predict and consequently difficult to design well-fuctioning cross-ventilated buildings. The authors aim to establish a new prediction method of cross-ventilation rate based on energy balance inside stream tube passing through/around a building by using CFD. As a fundamental study to analyze airflow field, this paper presents two wind tunnel tests; i.e. pressure measurement on the ground inside/outside the building, and PlY measurement on the windward/leeward side, which are to be compared with CFD to analyze the accuracy of calculation.
