Description
The subspecies division of the Japanese population of Neptis pryeri Butler is revised. Through the analysis of wing maculation and mtDNA (ND5), a new subspecies N. pryeri kiiensis is described for the population ranging on the lime stones and rocky areas of the Kii Mountains in the Kii Peninsula, to which N.p. iwasei Fujioka, 1998 has so far been applied.
