Description

Opportunities to discover pancreatic mass are increasing with the development of recent diagnostic imaging. We report a rare case of pancreatic lipoma found during a medical examination. In a 6X-year-old woman, a hyper-echoic mass in the pancreatic tail was detected by abdominal ultrasonography. This tumor had a clear and well-defined boundary of 2.6 cm × 1.1 cm without pancreatic duct dilatation. The lesion had no blood flow by color doppler image. CT showed a low dense lesion. MRI showed the lesion at high intensity on T2 weighted, and at low intensity on T2 weighted FatSAT.<BR>Therefore, this tumor was diagnosed as a pancreatic lipoma. Surgical stress in pancreatic disease is severe. Diagnosing this disease by multiple modality is considered very useful for avoiding unnecessary surgery.
