Description
A SBW actuator that applied a conventional EPS motor turns out to yield a large delay of front wheel angle from steering wheel angle as compared with a conventional hydraulic PS. A new concept SBW using a double powered actuator on a lightweight vehicle can demonstrate an equal performance to the hydraulic PS. A closed-loop simulation shows that the decrease of delay is crucial in reducing mental workload for the driver to manipulate SBW.
