Description

Waveform of the blood flow in the renal segmental and interlober arteries was detected by color Doppler sonography (Aloka-SSD2000). Twenty-four patients with chronic renal desease and fifty-one healthy subjects without renal, hepatic, or circulatory diseases were included.<br> One observer verified that both maximun flow velocity (Vmax) and resistive index (RI) were to be measured correctly by one observer. The result was also recognized between the other two observers. RI is not infuenced by aging and there is a good correlation between creatinine clearance and RI of the segmental and interlober arteries (r = 0.638)(r = 0.663). Thus RI is highly useful for the evaluation of the renal fanction.
