Abstract
We report 4 cases of minor salivary gland tumors in the palate.<br>Case 1 was a 35-year-old male. His chief complaint was a tumor formation in the oral cavity. He underwent surgical resection by transoral surgery and the pathology was pleomorphic adenoma. Case 2 was a 36-year-old female. She underwent surgical resection like case 1 and the pathology was pleomorphic adenoma. Case 3 was a 75-year-old female. She underwent surgical resection and the pathology was adenoid cystic carcinoma. Postoperative radiation therapy was performed. Case 4 was a 75-year-old male. Prior to the operation, the diagnosis was mucoepidermoid carcinoma and pulmonary metastasis. We considered the QOL of his remaining years, and he proceeded with the operation, but the patient died 1 year after the operation from the previously diagnosed carcinoma. Otolaryngologist rarely encounter minor salivary gland tumors, which have a higher probability of being malignant than major salivary gland tumors. Comprehensive diagnosis by clinical findings, image findings, and tissue analysis is necessary.
