Abstract
This paper reviews the articles about the East Japan Great Earthquake in the four newspapers in U.S., China, U.K., and France; and compares them among the four countries. One newspaper is selected in each country for the review. It covers the articles in the newspapers published during one month after the disaster. The results show that the newspapers in the four countries reported various issues including the damages of the disasters on local society, economic activities, and world economy. The analysis unveils that the economic, political, and geographical relations between Japan and each country influence the contents of the related articles. They also present the national energy policy particularly relating to nuclear plant in each country affect the editor's viewpoints in each newspaper in different ways.
