Abstract
This paper presents some considerations on longitudinal motion of girder of cablestayed bridges with longitudinally elastic or free support conditions. The structural design factors that affect natural frequency corresponding to the longitudinal motion are investigated through a simulation analysis, using two cable-stayed bridge models with longitudinally different cable arrangements.<br>From the results of a simulation analysis, a simplified method of estimating this natural frequency can be proposed. Numerical examples are also worked out to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method.
