説明

The dehydrogenation of 2-cyclohexylcyclohexanone (1) was carried out in the presence of 5% palladiumcharcoal at 220270°C under nitrogen atmosphere, the reaction time being 14 hr.<BR>o-Cyclohexylphenol (2) and o-phenylphenol (3) were obtained as the dehydrogenation products, and dibenzofuran (4) and biphenyl (5) were formed as the cyclization and deoxygenation products, respectively, via (3). The conversion of (1) after 3 hr at each temperature was 31% (220°C), 52% (230°C), 70% (240°C), 79% (250°C), 88% (260°C), and 94% (270°C), thus increasing very rapidly with the rise of temperature. The yield of (3) also increased. The yield of (2) went up to its maximum after 13hr, and then decreased with prolonged reaction time. On the other hand, the yield of the other products increased gradually.
