説明

Isoxazole formation by thermal reaction of 5-substituted 3-phenyl-Δ2-isoxazolines was investigated by DTA and TGA techniques. The elimination temperatures of the compounds become higher in the order of the 5-substituents (the leaving group) of-OCOCH3 <-NCO <-NHCOOC2H5 <-NHCONHPh <-CN. The compound having another methyl group at 5-position gave the corresponding isoxazole at a temperature lower than that having no methyl group at 5-position by about 50100°C.<BR>The elimination reaction of 3-phenyl-5-acetoxy-Δ2-isoxazoline in DMF solution was also investigated and the reaction was shown to be a first order reaction. The reaction was accelerated by the addition of salts in the solution.
