抄録

The deaths causeed by damages of the intestinal tract and/or mesentery in traffic accidents have steadily decreased since it had been the duty of a driver to put on a seat belt. Howerver, the degree of damages varies with or mesentery in traffic accidents experienced in a recent 6-year period were studied from the viewpoint of with or without a seat belt.<br> 1) Most patients with a seat belt were injured in the jejunum, while those without a seat belt in the mesentery.<br> 2) Volume of intraperitoneal bleeding was significantly less in the patients with a seat belt.<br> These results demonstrate that considering blunt injury in a traffic accident, and it is important that a well-timed operation should be performed.
