Abstract

While, forestry workers are decreasing, the amount of the member of workers accident compensation insurance as foreman or independent contractor is increasing. However, their existence form and realities are still unclear, and it holds the important problem from the standpoint of the amelioration of employment and occupational health and safety. In this study, we make clear their current status and, existence form from the standpoint of occupational health and safety, based on a questionnaire survey conducted in 2004/2005 which was intended for forestry independent contractors and their guild for accession to industrial injury insurance.
