抄録

In this paper, we first aim to review the mechanisms of sediment microbial fuel cells (SMFCs) in remediation of reduced-sediment. And then, we experimentally investigate the ability of SMFCs to suppress the oxygen consumption of reduced-sediment. It was found that the suppression of oxygen consumption greatly depended on the electric current generated by the SMFCs, which increases in the electric current leads to the improvement of sediment-redox conditions. Moreover, it is clear that the addition of ferric oxide into the sediment effectively increases the electric current.
