Description
Amagasaki Sea Blue Project of Hyogo Prefecture in Amagasaki Canal constructed a biological purification facility in 2012. The facility was designed for water purification of eutropied seawater and recreation activities. To clarify the effect on nutrient removing function and social effects by the facility, field observation and participant observation to civic collaboration were conducted. As a result, it was found that max. 69% of total nitrogen was removed from eutropied seawater with biological water purification technique using marine creatures in summertime of 2013. Moreover, we found that ideal stream velocity for breeding sea algae was 0.9 m/s by reactive test. According to a questionnaire survey, citizen's desire of participation to eco-activities in Amagasaki Canal was affected by involvement with planning the project. Finally, from an analysis of ecosystem service, we found that the facility have a function not only original plan of Amagasaki Sea Blue Project but also creating a self-sustaining civic collaboration.
