Abstract

The effects of four newly-developed group activities were examined according to the standards presented as thebases for the experiential study of counseling psychology. The standards include 1)promoting members having contactwith each other, 2)providing the clues to understand themselves (the role one likely to take in a group, merits and demerits, etc.) and 3)understand others, 4)giving feed-backs to various aspects, 5)helping self-enlightenment, 6)the messagethe newly-developed group activity conveys to the members, and 7)level of labor to operate it (needed tools, time, appropriateness to the participants, applicability to the others). Two kinds of group drawing activities (One-touch group crayon drawing and Pass-around group crayon drawingwith mischief) were introduced. The art works of the students were introduced and the descriptions of the feedbackswere examined according to the above standards. As a result One-touch group crayon drawing had good results in understandingthe role one likely to take in a group. Pass-around group crayon drawing with mischief gave good feedbackson one's merits and demerits by commenting on the way one drew. Two kinds of speaker-listener-observer group activities (Group career talking with newspaper articles and Grouptalking and listening with the themes of emotion) were introduced. The descriptions of the feedbacks of both activitieswere examined as above. Group career talking with news paper articles gave insights to the students as to their presentsituation. The result of Group talking and listening with the themes of emotion suggested premature introduction of the themes to the students in the study process.
