Abstract

There is approximately 2ha of wooded area on the Uekusa Gakuen University campus. Since the forest was not maintained, it was difficult to enter. Members of NPO The Chiba Science Association and University faculty and students have recently constructed a trail and a playground to enable children to study nature. This document describes the process of forest management, introduces the activity of The Chiba Science Association and demonstrates the feasibility of using the forest as an educational tool.
