Focusing on the relationship of role-identity accumulation and distress of married women, a mail survey was conducted at the suberbs of Tokyo, in December of 1993.Data was collected by a sample of 807 married women living in Chofu-City.<BR>The role-identity accumulation scale was constructed by subjective importance of mother-identity, wife-identity, housekeeper-identity and woker-identity.<BR>Two findings were as follows:<BR>(1) In the case of a wife having a full-time job, she has more distress than the others.<BR>(2) The higher role-identity accumulation the wife has, less distress she has.
