説明

The analytical method to determine a small amount of ABS in toothpaste is successfully completed : In order to eliminate sodium alkylsulfates and other methylene blue active materials, alcohol extract of toothpaste is refluxed for 2 hr with 1 : 2 hydrochloric acid. If ABS exists in the hydrolysed solution, it can be determined by Abbott's method.<BR>Thus, about 0.05% ABS which is previously mixed with toothpaste is quantitatively determined by this method.
