Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of the cyclic impact load on the compressive shear bond strength of zirconia. The MDP monomer resin cement Panavia Fluoro Cement was used in this study. Before the shear bond test, three different impact loading conditions (compressive direction, shear direction, and no impact) and a number of load cycles (1 to 106cycles) were performed. The shear bond strengths were greatest without cyclic impact, followed by compressive and then shear cyclic impact. The shear bond strengths increased to a certain extent from one to 106 cycles. In other words, the bond strength increased with the passage of time. Applying tribochemical treatment and the MDP monomer resin cement Panavia Fluoro Cement facilitated the durable bond strength of zirconia.
