Abstract

More than 20 years have passed since the National License of both the Certified Social Workers and Psychiatric Social Workers were socially recognized. Social workers have developed their specialty to help the client group, the community, and the society. Licensure is a necessary for them to master the knowledge, skills and values of social work. The role played by the social work seminar style education in the university and/or professional training college is increasing significance. This paper aims to clarify the concrete contents of the social work seminar-including generalized theory, objects and goals, methodology, perspectives and context, though application of principles of education (pedagogy). The troubles of instructors (from the perspective of teaching) consist of three factors (professional pedagogue's identity, significance of "teaching" and the natural will of human beings/students to try to become better), rather than reasons related to their social work specialty. It is necessary to organize systematized seminar style education in the total social work educational system.
