Abstract
Rebuilding the operation scheme of public transportation is a recent topic of discussion in Japan because the number of passengers is decreasing especially in rural areas. However, the discussion depending on the knowledge from transport data such as tendency of boarding and alighting volume, its daily variation and so on is only a few cases especially in rural areas of Japan. On the other hand, recently, usage of smart cards for public transport purchases is growing even in the rural area. That means the data of public transport passengers are continually collected, and it can be fundamental information to discuss about public transport marketing strategies. This paper describes evaluation of transfer points of public transportation applying Data Envelop Analysis (DEA) using smart card data. Since DEA can consider several types data at once, this paper evaluate the points using information about public transport users by smart card data and Bus/Tram operation information as input and output for BCC model of DEA. To evaluate the points by DEA, firstly this paper proposes three index to describe efficiency of transfer points such as are evaluate transfer time, variance of transfer time and trip dependency for transfer points. From the results, it showed clearly difference by each index. And this research also evaluate considering time period (morning, daytime and night) and age of the users using transfer time evaluation, and the evaluation results showed on the map. Results with considering time period shows that morning and daytime are not so different, however it shows night time can be different efficiency since the schedule of public transportation is not same with morning and daytime. Results with considering age is also shows difference of efficiency. Therefore, when people who is related public transport scheme planning should make it clear their priority and target to develop better transfer planning.
