Description
This study aims at development of the road-side warning system for prevention of crossing-crash accident in small intersection. This system aims at cheap and simple device in consideration of the intersectional feature of having the occurrence problem of crossing-crash accident. In the existing study, the warning judging algorithm which predicts in advance whether they are dangerous vehicles from the place and speed measured by the approaching vehicles sensor on the street was developed. According to the experiment using the imitation intersection in an examination site, it showed clearly that a driver becomes careful by warning of the road-side flash light. Furthermore, it also showed clearly that a vehicles action is improved by the warning light.<br>It aims at verification of the introductory effect of this system in public small intersection in this paper. Experimental device supposing public road installation of this system was made based on the present technology. The trial experiment of warning service was conducted in public small intersection in which crossing-crash accident occurs frequently. As a result, in actual public small intersection into which the system was introduced, it was shown clearly that the improvement of the stop behaviour of a non-priority road is found.
