Description
The use of electric assisted bicycles (EAB) has spread to elderly people in these days, who are allowed to cycle on the pavement with sharing with pedestrians. This study aims at comparative analysis on the behavior of assisted bicycles and normal type bicycles by elderly and young people on real streets. As a result,. Both young and elderly people runs faster and more stable handling when using EAB than normal bicycles. Elderly people have, however, a tendency in using EAB even when they run congested shared use with pedestrians, to run faster with less steering, more acceleration, and a little conscious about conflicts with pedestrians, because they need less effort to run by EAB.
