The food industry in Japan covers 5% of GDP and 7% of contribution of working population recently. Major successful companies such as Watami group of drinking house, Saizelia of popular Italian restraint and Kura of rotating Sushi bar has been expanding their business with M&A and aiming 6th industry covered not only services in shops of 3rd industry, but also manufacturing and precooking at factory of 2nd and making rice and vegetable in own farm of 1st industry. This movement of 6th industry of food industry leads the direction of revolution of agriculture in Japan guided and supported by government today after great east Japan earthquake.<BR>This paper studied from history to overview of today's Japanese food industry and strategy of business management of ten representative excellent companies and explores direction of food industry in the 21st century.
