Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the characteristics of children's images of their father and mother using the Rorschach methods. We conducted the Rorschach test involving 591 children, attending elementary (second, fourth, and sixth grade) and junior high (second grade) school students, in which they were asked to choose cards representing the image of a father or mother. A large number of children chose Card IV as the picture depicting the image of a father. On the other hand, their image of a mother varied depending on their gender and age. Understanding children's images of their parents helps us examine their problems.
