Description
The chemical compositions of slaked lime obtained under different slaking conditions from quick lime calcined under different conditions were analysed by means of the thermal analysis, the crystal size and configuration of Ca (OH) 2 were observed by the electron microscope, still more the crystal size was examined by the X-ray diffraction, the relationship of slaked lime and material quick lime has been investigated and the following results were obtained.<BR>Slaked lime showed good quality in the case obtained from quick lime calcined under rather higher temperature and longer time than low and short.<BR>The cuptals of Ca (OH) 2 relatively agreed with those of material CaO in size, most of them were below 0.15μ in diameter and the distribution in size of the crystals was wider in slaked lime obtained under closed condition than open.<BR>With the increase of quantity of water in slaking, the crystal of Ca (OH) 2 grew large and its form was a hexagonal system much developing in A-axial direction.
