Description

The object of this study is to examine the appropriate method for disposing mineralized muck from the construction of a long tunnel in mine area. The mineralized muck contains pyrite, which will form sulfuric acid by reaction with water. The downstream drainage could be polluted by acid water when the ores and the pyrite-disseminated altered dumped without treatment. In order to avoid this pollution, the mucks, which are classified as mineralized one by daily muck identification, are dumped in controlled disposal sites where they are shielded from rain and groundwater. With these measures, no polluted water has been drained downstream.
