Abstract

The last century the classical astronomy has been developed to astrophysics by introducing modern physics of the quantum theory and the theory of relativity. Thus the astrophysics founded in last one century has several fields such as cosmic ray physics, radio astronomy, X-ray astronomy, gamma-ray astronomy, infrared astronomy, neutrino astronomy and so on. We describe a partial short history and activities of the astrophysics in Japan. Although the astrophysics has widely advanced, we could expect new surprising objects and phenomena in the universe even in the future.
