Description

Since the celebrated paper on the linear response theory of Professor Ryogo Kubo was published, fifty years have passed. Here, we briefly study the idea of the theory, and overview the historical processes related to the theory and its recent developments in various fields. This theory is so general that it has played guiding roles in studies on the response phenomena widely in physics, in particular in condensed matter physics. The theory is also an important first step of the non-equilibrium statistical physics. Some recently discovered phenomena are introduced, and also explore the developments in non-equilibrium and nonlinear processes.
