Description
This research aims to elucidate pictogram design conditions in which, as many people as possible simply understand their meanings for planning its new guide in educational institutions. For this purpose, we conducted an investigation arranging the 6 items and 7 types of pictograms in order of those which are easier to understand through infants and primary and secondary school students with intellectual disability, secondary school students who are going to ordinary schools without it and university students. And we compared average rankings of respective attributions between those pictograms. This exploration has led us to recognize that the three points, 'motion lines' representing motions and sounds, 'figures' characterizing certain places and describing actions of what to do, were depicted by the above subjects, and that the conditions of universal pictograms require these.
