Description
The making of form of fat-faces, appeared in the early 19th century London, were clarified as to be follow. (1) Jobbing printed media became prosperous and fat-face jobbing letters were began to use briskly as display type. These types, moreover, had been made bigger and fatter and to be conspicuous to attract much attention, were based on fat-face types. (2) During the 18th century, book type foundries had continued to produce modern typefaces. The formative element of these types were taken in fat-face jobbing letters, which was a important formative factor for the further development to fat-face types. (3) There were two types of transitional roman and modern roman in the early fat-faces, but one of that inherited formative elements from modern roman has been established as a typical fat-face.
