Abstract
Bauhaus, which was initiated in Weimar in 1919,is a campaign aiming at unification of art and technology, and can safely be said a movement that has prophetically shown the multi-faced expansion of the art, culture, education, scientific technology, etc. in the 20th Century. However as reality, the campaign appears to have extensively been summarized historically as model to be reachd by the modern design under Gropius' leadership. In this paper, special emphasis will intentionally be laid to the fact that the propulsive force by which Bauhaus was directed to be in possession of life power resided not only in a side of the realization of the 'function-priority' design but also in another side, i.e. in a water vein, insisting that the artists were desirous of forming unification in a realistic and practical region called design. That was by the artists such as Johannes Itten, Oskar Schlemmer etc. who carnally expressed another water vein by themselves.
