In this study, we measured bone mass and life behavior (exercise custom and diet habits)and examined the relationships between them. The subjects were university students majoring in exercise. The same examinations were performed on university students not majoring in exercise as control. Obtained results were summarized as follows.
1) The significant difference was se e n in bone mass between student majoring in exercise (105.5±12.0%) and control (98.0±10.5%).
2) Exercise custom in growth phase was ap p arent in students majoring in exercise.
3) In comparison among runner, swimmer and sedentary students, the bone mass of runner (110.0±11.1%) was significantly higher than other two groups. Though the difference was not significant, bone mass of swimmer (94.0±7.1%) was lowest.
4) There was no difference in diet habits between students m ajoring exercise and another ones.
5) We concluded that it should be very important for prevention of osteoporosis that students in elementally school study bone mass and exercise precisely.
