Abstract
The Pliocene Iga Formation of the Kobiwako Group of the Ueno Basin and the Ayama Hills in Mie Prefecture, central Japan contains abundant remains of viviparid and pleurocerid gastropods. Taxonomic examination of these gastropods results in recognition of one new genus and four species including three new species. Igapaludina stricta (Araki), n. gen., Bellamya suzukii, n. sp., Tuloto-moides sanaguensis, n. sp., and Semisulcospira (Biwamelania) praemultigranosa, n. sp. are described herein. The subgeneric name Biwamelania is redefined.
