抄録

As the methods of utilizing HClO4 in rapid analysis of iron and steel, we have studied on the determination of Mn in Ferro-Manganese.<BR>Outlines of the procedure are as follows:-<BR>(1) Sample (0.2g) is dissolved in hot HClO4 (10c.c.).<BR>(2) H3PO4 (10c.c.) is added to it and heating is continued.<BR>(3) 30c.c. of H2SO4 (1:1) is added to it.<BR>(4) The solution is diluted by adding about 250c.c. of H2O<BR>(5) After cooling, it is titrated by N/10 Fe"-N/10 KMnO4 sol.<BR>The characteristics of this method are as follows:-<BR>(1) The rapidity of dissolving samples with HClO4 and the violent oxidation of it are utilized.<BR>(2) MnII is oxidized into MnIII by HClO4 under the existence of H3PO4 and yet MnIII is stable in H3PO4 acidic solution.<BR>(3) And also, as it is titrated by FeII-KMnO4 method, the end point can be clearly recognized.<BR>(4) Accurate results are obtained within 12-18 minutes because of the simplicity of procedure.
