Description

This paper describes the outline of Recommendation for Self-compacting Concrete published by Japan Society of Civil Engineers in July 1998. Performance-based style is applied to this Recommendation associated with Manuals for Mixture Proportioning and for Manufacuring and Placement of self-compacting concrete. In this recommendation, required self-compactability is established and methods of verification and inspection for its self-compactability are described. Practical mixture proportioning method including material selection, and recommended practice of manufacuring and placing self-compacting concrete are described in each Manual.
